Student Advisory

At Sacred Heart Greenwich, we are committed to educating the whole person so that every student is known, supported, and encouraged to grow. Rooted in the Goals and Criteria, our community seeks to form students of faith, intellect, and awareness who recognize their unique gifts and use them in service to others. Meaningful relationships—between faculty and students and among peers—are at the heart of the Sacred Heart experience.

The Student Advisory Program is a key component of our Circle of Support, providing dedicated time for students to build connections, develop essential life skills, and navigate the academic, social, and emotional experiences of each stage of their journey.

Through age-appropriate discussions, activities, and reflection, advisors help students strengthen decision-making skills, develop healthy habits, build confidence, and cultivate a strong sense of belonging within the Sacred Heart community.

Middle School Advisory Program

The Middle School Advisory Program is at the heart of each student's experience, providing a consistent source of guidance, encouragement, and connection during these important developmental years. Every student is paired with a faculty advisor who serves as a trusted mentor, advocate, and primary point of contact for both the student and her family throughout the school year.

Middle School advisors are intentionally engaged in all aspects of a student's school life. They monitor academic progress, support social and emotional well-being, celebrate successes, help students navigate challenges, and partner closely with teachers, counselors, nurses, coaches, and families to ensure each student is known, supported, and encouraged to reach her full potential.

Advisory groups meet weekly for dedicated programming that fosters relationship building, self-awareness, decision-making, organization, executive functioning, and leadership development. Through meaningful conversations, community-building activities, and reflective experiences, advisors help students develop the confidence, resilience, and habits needed to thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

Grounded in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education, the Advisory Program creates a strong sense of belonging and ensures that every Middle School student is seen, heard, and supported as she grows into a confident young woman of faith, leadership, and service.

Upper School Advisory Program

The Upper School Advisory Program provides each student with a trusted mentor, advocate, and consistent source of support throughout her Upper School experience. Beginning in ninth grade, each student is paired with a faculty advisor who remains with her throughout her Sacred Heart Greenwich years, fostering strong relationships while supporting her academic, social, and personal growth. As students gain independence, advisors help them navigate increasing academic responsibilities, leadership opportunities, digital citizenship, wellness, and decision-making.

Advisory groups meet regularly for programming focused on well-being, community building, leadership development, and preparation for life beyond Sacred Heart Greenwich. Woven throughout the advisory curriculum are components of the Leadership Academy, where students develop practical leadership and professional skills through experiences such as crafting an elevator pitch, preparing for and participating in mock interviews, and, as seniors, delivering a culminating reflection to the community that celebrates their growth and leadership journey. Beginning in ninth grade, students also participate in college readiness programming in partnership with the College Counseling Office, building the skills and confidence needed for the college application process.

Rooted in the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education, the Advisory Program fosters meaningful relationships, encourages reflection and personal growth, and empowers students to become confident young women.
