Campus Ministry
At Sacred Heart Greenwich, our Catholic identity is central to who we are. As the only faith-based school for girls in Greenwich, we are part of a global network of more than 150 Sacred Heart schools in 41 countries united by a shared mission and the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education.

Faith is not confined to the chapel or the classroom—it is woven into daily life, relationships, learning, and service. From Kindergarten through graduation, Campus Ministry nurtures each student’s spiritual journey through prayer, liturgy, retreats, reflection, service, and leadership. Students are encouraged to ask meaningful questions, strengthen their sense of purpose, and recognize their responsibility to others.
Whether gathering in the Chapel for prayer, celebrating the Feast of Mater Admirabilis, pausing for moments of Espacio, stepping away on retreat, or serving others with compassion, students experience faith as a living part of their day.
Rooted in the Catholic tradition and welcoming students of all faiths and backgrounds, our community gathers throughout the year for school-wide liturgies and cherished Sacred Heart traditions, including the Feast of Mater Admirabilis and celebrations honoring our founding Mothers, Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat and Saint Rose Philippine Duchesne. These shared experiences strengthen our community, celebrate our Sacred Heart heritage, and connect students to the global Sacred Heart mission.
One memory that I will cherish from Sacred Heart Greenwich was from our senior retreat the second week back from school. Our whole grade was sitting by the camp fire, singing songs and laughing with each other. We were all present in the moment together and it reminds me how lucky I am to get to go to school with such amazing girls.

Lower School
Students begin building a foundation of faith as they experience the joy of coming together as a Lower School community. They lead their community in prayer during chapel, liturgies, and retreats—experiences that deepen their understanding of God’s love and inspire them to live with kindness, gratitude, compassion, and respect.
Throughout the year, students celebrate cherished traditions such as the Blessing of their Pets on the Feast of Saint Francis and May Crowning, when they honor Mary by placing flowers at her statue. These joyful celebrations help students experience God’s love, celebrate creation, and grow in faith as a community.
Middle School
As students grow, so does their understanding of faith and themselves. They lead prayer during Morning Meetings and Friday Gatherings and prepare chapels for the Middle School community. Theology classes, liturgies, retreats, and the Sacred Heart practice of Espacio encourage students to pause, reflect, listen deeply, and discover how faith can shape their relationships, choices, and growing sense of self.
Each grade participates in an annual retreat designed to strengthen both faith and community. Through prayer, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences, students deepen friendships, build trust, and grow together in faith. As they grow in confidence, they discover that their voices and gifts can strengthen the spiritual life of their community.
Upper School
Upper School students assume leadership in the school's spiritual life, fostering a vibrant faith community. Their growth in faith is reflected in the chapel services, prayers, and reflections they thoughtfully prepare and lead for their community. A defining experience of the junior year is Kairos, a retreat centered on prayer, reflection, authentic conversation, and community.
As seniors, students serve as retreat leaders across all divisions, accompany second grade students in prayer, lead prayer during Lower School Service Days, and serve as Eucharistic Ministers during school liturgies. Their Sacred Heart journey comes full circle on Graduation Day, when second grade students present each senior with a rose—a cherished tradition celebrating the enduring bonds of the Sacred Heart community and sending graduates forth with the love and prayers of those who follow in their footsteps.
