Broadcast Journalism is not merely an elective at our school. It is the first step of a lifelong journey for many students. Our alumnae go on to study at top media and filmmaking programs around the country such as USC, Syracuse University, NYU, Northwestern, and Elon. One out of every two broadcast alumnae pursue careers in communications, media, or filmmaking.

Our Alumnae Media Network group is a resource for Sacred Heart Greenwich alumnae who work in the media, television, film, social media, and communications fields. We connect graduates of Sacred Heart Greenwich who work in the media with current students and share opportunities for networking events, internships, mentorships, and job listings.

Our goals:
1. Provide resources and networking opportunities for alumnae who work in the media field.
2. Create an alumnae network to help educate our current students about majoring in media in college and working in the field in the future.

Broadcast journalist Grace Sutherland '16 gives advice to current Sacred Heart students

Grace Sutherland '16 graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors from USC. She said, “The Broadcast Journalism department was the greatest outlet for me. Yes, it was a class, but I always looked at it as the peak of my day. Because of the Broadcast department, I was able to find my loves of news, politics, and film. I learned the unpredictable nature of the news is what I love. I love that every day is different. I learned the basic ideals of patience, spontaneity and quick thinking.”

Bridget Scaturro '14 speaks to filmmaking students about sports broadcasting

ESPN Production Assistant and Sacred Heart Greenwich alumna Bridget Scaturro '14 spoke to the Introduction to Filmmaking class via Zoom on October 29.

"Sports broadcasting is a scary industry to go into. It's really competitive, and women are often put down in the industry just because it's a male-dominated industry. Sacred Heart definitely gave me the confidence to decide that that's what I wanted to do and pursue it and not just blow it off because I heard that it could be hard," Bridget said.
