Pursuing Excellence
Thank you from President Michael F. Baber
Dear Sacred Heart Greenwich Community,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for last night’s Celebration of the Heart. The evening was a joyful reflection of the faith, purpose, and spirit that unite our community. The energy in the room—fueled by your enthusiasm and belief in our mission—reminded us of the extraordinary strength of Sacred Heart Greenwich.
This year’s celebration marked an especially meaningful moment as we shared exciting news about our school’s continued growth and momentum:
- Living Our Mission: Senior Mia Ritossa ’26, our Student Body President, reminded us that true leadership begins with kindness and courage—and that our shared theme, Lead with Heart, Act with Purpose, calls each of us to serve others with integrity and faith.
- Strong Enrollment and Vitality: As Board Chair Kevin McCooey P’28 noted, Sacred Heart welcomed its strongest incoming classes in recent memory, bringing total enrollment to 642 students with waitlists across all divisions—our highest yield and lowest acceptance rate in more than a decade.
- Mission-Driven Strength: Our financial foundation remains strong, fueled by record participation in the Fund for Sacred Heart, which continues to support academic excellence, faculty innovation, and financial aid.
- Transformative Generosity: President Michael Baber announced three extraordinary leadership gifts—totaling $26 million—from the Worden, Cunniffe, and an anonymous trustee family, launching a bold new chapter of our Pursuing Excellence strategic plan. These gifts will help shape the next generation of Sacred Heart learning spaces, advancing STEM, the arts, and interdisciplinary innovation.
Now in Year Three of Pursuing Excellence, we continue to invest in the people, programs, and places that define the Sacred Heart experience—from expanded service learning and student success initiatives to reimagined spaces that inspire collaboration and discovery.
Your partnership and philanthropy make all of this possible. Support for the 2025–2026 Fund for Sacred Heart directly sustains these efforts, ensuring that every student is empowered to grow as a woman of faith, intellect, and purpose.
Thank you for your unwavering generosity and belief in our mission. Together, we are shaping an inspiring future—one that honors 177 years of tradition while preparing the next generation to lead with courage and confidence.
With Courage and Confidence,
Michael F. Baber
President
