Barat Center Back to School Information

Dear Barat Center students and families,

I hope you are enjoying a beautiful summer, savoring time to relax and allowing time for new adventures.  I have relished time with family and friends, walking at the beach, reading, and recharging, but as always, Sacred Heart and the children are not far from my thoughts. I have been preparing for the children’s arrival by reimagining some of our classroom space, with a keen focus on our art area. We continue to add to our beautiful book collection and our building supplies, always seeking new sources to support our curriculum and cultivate inspiration.

The Goals & Criteria guide us. In the spirit of Goal II: Sacred Heart educators commit themselves to educate to a deep respect for intellectual values and Goal V: Schools of the Sacred Heart commit themselves to educate to personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom, we are creating a beautiful new space by the garden where the children are free to explore and their imaginations can soar. Mustard Seeds always leads to big, wonder-filled questions and inspires what we do in the classroom.

We are happy to start the year with our weekly Friday Guest Reader program, an opportunity for parents to share a treasured story with the class. Together with our class parents, we will find other opportunities for parents to spend time in the classroom.

Kindly look over the back-to-school information and fill out any forms that await your signature on the Parent Portal. Please see the list of supplies below. A reminder that during our first week of school the children will be in school from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm. And, in the meantime, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I can’t wait to see you and hope you enjoy these last days of summer!

Best,
Frederica McGannon, P ’22
