The Athletic Hall of Fame honors alumnae student-athletes, coaches, teams and sport contributors in our Sacred Heart Greenwich community who have made a significant impact in their sport and who exemplify the principles of sportsmanship and the Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Schools.

Sacred Heart Greenwich seeks to recognize members of community for their extraordinary contributions to its athletic program. It is the mission of the Athletic Hall of Fame Committee to induct, over a period of time, deserving athletes as described in the criteria for selection.

• The nominee must have graduated from Sacred Heart Greenwich at least 5 years prior to nomination. 
• The nominee must have competed in their sport for Sacred Heart Greenwich. 
• The nominee must have made a significant achievement in their sport. This may have taken place at the high school, collegiate, national, or international level.
• Head varsity coaches must have been employed by Sacred Heart Greenwich for a minimum of five years. 
• Athletic Directors must have been in the position for a minimum of five years. 
• A team which has brought recognition and honor to Sacred Heart Greenwich by its significant achievement.

Nominations should be made in writing. Please include a brief summary of the nominee’s accomplishments and why you feel they should be inducted to the Sacred Heart Greenwich Athletic Hall of Fame. Self-nominations will not be accepted. Inductions take place during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend in the fall.

Nominations for consideration may be submitted by any member of the Sacred Heart Greenwich community via our nomination form. Any person may recommend any eligible individual to be considered as a nominee. Each recommendation shall be accompanied by information regarding the achievements of the individual being recommended. Upon recommendation to the Selection Committee, an individual shall be placed on the List of Candidates to be maintained by the Selection Committee.

The selection committee will be co-chaired by the Director of Alumnae Relations and the Director of Athletics. This committee will be responsible for choosing from those individuals and teams who have been recommended through the application process. They will use criteria set forth by the committee to make this determination. 

The committee will be made up of the following people:

• Director of Alumnae Relations
• Director of Athletics
• Associate Head of Student Life
• Assistant Head of Upper School for Community Engagement
• President of the Alumnae Board
• A rotating member of the Alumnae Board
• A member of the Athletics Staff, determined by the Director of Athletics

Individuals and teams that are to be inducted into the Athletic Hall of Fame will be honored over Sacred Heart Greenwich Reunion weekend. Events will include an Athletic Hall of Fame induction, as well as a ceremony during an athletics sporting event, as determined by the Director of Athletics and event schedule. Recognition of the inductees will be permanently displayed in the Athletic Center.

A class will be inducted into the Hall of Fame every two (2) years with the first class in the Fall of 2024.
