Squash continues to be a popular sport at Sacred Heart Greenwich, with lots of individual and team highlights over the course of the 2018-2019 season. A highlight was certainly our MS A team who finished the season as NATIONAL CHAMPIONS by winning MS Squash Nationals! Congratulations again to those players and coaches. The B team qualified for Division I at MS Nationals, and finished 14 out of 16 teams; a great finish for this group. All three MS teams had winning seasons, and a number of MS students participated in our instructional squash program as well.

The Upper School squash program also included three teams, all of which finished with winning seasons. The JV team qualified for Division 4 at US Squash Nationals for the second year in a row, finishing a program high of 10th place (5 places higher than last year). This was the second year in a row that the Varsity team qualified for Division I at US Nationals, tying our best-ever finish of 14th (beating our seed of 15 heading into the tournament). The Varsity team finished 6th (out of 16) at New Englands, again tied for our best team finish. This was especially impressive as the team was playing down two players due to injury. The players at New Englands posted the following individual finishes: 3rd at #2, 4th at #4, 6th at #5, 7th at #6, and 4th at #7.

Sacred Heart Greenwich opened a 35,600 square foot athletic center designed for women’s sports in September 2015. The facility includes three National Federation of State High School Associations regulation basketball and volleyball courts, six international singles squash courts, classrooms for health and physical education, a strength and conditioning room, a dance and yoga studio, and a sports medicine center in addition to locker rooms for home and visiting teams, a press box, and administrative offices.
