Note from Varsity Head Coach Suzanne Myette: Our season started off on a very strong note, after a summer of committed running by most of the team of 14 girls. We went 9-0 at our opening FAA meets and finished 2nd in the D1 division at the Canterbury Invitational and 2nd in the small school division at the Wilton Invitational, our highest finishes there ever. Success continued at the Manhattan College Invitational, at Kent and throughout the FAA season, where we finished 2nd Overall after entering the final FAA meets with a 3-way tie for first place with GA and Hopkins. The team was Runner-up at the FAA championships and despite missing our 2 lead runners at New Englands, the team finished 9th overall out of 18 teams.
Upper School Cross Country: With a very challenging season and races, the US XC team finished 2nd in the Wilton Invitational and 2nd in the Canterbury Invitational. They also earned 2nd place in the Regular FAA Season and 2nd place at the Championship Meet in Sherwood Island, CT.
Middle School Cross Country: Our MS team had an exciting season participating in 5 total meets and an FAA Championship meet. The courses varied from one location to another allowing the team to develop and adjust during each race.
Sacred Heart Greenwich has a three-mile cross-country course and hosts multiple Middle School and Upper School races a year.
Athletes also have access to our 35,600 square foot athletic center designed for women’s sports which opened in September 2015. The facility includes three National Federation of State High School Associations regulation basketball and volleyball courts, six international singles squash courts, classrooms for health and physical education, a strength and conditioning room, a dance and yoga studio, and a sports medicine center in addition to locker rooms for home and visiting teams, a press box, and administrative offices.
