Peforming Arts

The Performing Arts at Sacred Heart Greenwich provide opportunities for creative exploration through Theatre, Dance, and Music.

Theatre

Theatre empowers students to grow in confidence, think creatively, and work collaboratively while developing the skills they need to become experienced arts and innovative storytellers. As a community-focused art form, theatre uniquely positions students to thrive as members of an artistic team, finding their own strengths and celebrating those of others in an environment in which many different skills and perspectives are needed to achieve a common creative goal.

As they progress, students engage in meaningful hands-on work across areas of specialization within theatrical production, including acting, playwriting, directing, dramaturgy, and set, lighting, and costume design. The Theatre program encourages students to become thoughtful artists, versatile practitioners, resilient problem-solvers, and articulate, capable leaders.

Dance

At Sacred Heart Greenwich, we are proud to feature Dance as part of our performing arts program. We welcome every student, from those taking their very first class to dancers on a dedicated pre-professional track, offering a space where they can refine their training and expand their horizons. Our curriculum is designed to equip students with more than just technical precision; we provide the tools to cultivate artistic expression, self-confidence , and a lifelong passion for the craft.  Above all, we believe in nurturing the individual, ensuring that each dancer's unique talents and personal goals are inspired and supported at every level.

Music

Music inspires students to discover their voices, explore their passions, and experience the power of music as a means of connection and expression. Through vocal and instrumental study, students build skills in rhythm, note reading, music theory, composition, performance, and the exploration of diverse musical traditions.

As they progress, students deepen their understanding of musicianship through ensemble experiences, including choral groups, orchestra, and handbell choirs. The music program nurtures creativity, collaboration, and confidence while offering opportunities for students to perform for the community through events and cultural experiences.
