The purpose of the Greenwich-Maplehurst Alumnae Association shall be to support the Convent of the Sacred Heart in living out the commitment to the Goals & Criteria of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools. In addition, the Association will strive to perpetuate and strengthen the friendships formed at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and to foster alumnae involvement in working for the academic excellence and financial health of the School.
ALUMNAE BOARD PRESIDENT
Together with the Greenwich-Maplehurst Alumnae Association Board and the Young Alumnae Council, I want to welcome all of our alumnae to the 2023-2024 school year! As Sacred Heart Greenwich celebrates its 175th anniversary, I look forward to connecting all of you to our alma mater and together, living the message of Cor Unum - one mission, one heart, one community.
Over the course of the year, it is my hope that we can all connect to further the Goals & Criteria that were instilled in us during our time on King Street and support our community socially, spiritually, professionally, and philanthropically.
Socially
Sacred Heart hosts many complementary events both virtually and in-person, throughout the country each year. In recent years, events were held in California, Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Missouri, New York, Virginia, and Washington D.C. More information on upcoming events can be found on our events page and in the monthly Alumnae Au Courant.
Spiritually
Sacred Heart alumnae are invited to join the school community for various speakers and liturgies throughout the school year, including the Education to Mission speaker series, First Fridays, and Wednesday morning masses. More about mission driven experiences can be found here.
Professionally
Sacred Heart alumnae have access to a powerful network of Sacred Heart Greenwich graduates who work in a range of industries. With 70% of jobs made possible through networking, Sacred Heart Greenwich alumnae will be a valuable resource to you as you navigate your career. To network directly with other alumnae, I encourage you to follow the School on LinkedIn and list Sacred Heart Greenwich under the education section of your profile so you can be automatically connected with other alumnae.
Philanthropically
Sacred Heart relies on the philanthropic support of alumnae to The Fund for Sacred Heart, the School’s philanthropic priority, as well as the annual giving days of Giving Tuesday, and Give From the Heart for Financial Aid. Your alumnae support, of any amount, is essential for Sacred Heart to remain true to its mission. When you give before December 31 (with pledges payable by June 30), that helps the School most thoughtfully allocate your gift to support students and faculty this school year.
There are many other ways to connect with Sacred Heart! I encourage you to attend Celebration of the Heart on October 12, 2023 and Heart Homecoming and Reunion on October 21, 2023, volunteer at Come Home for Christmas or in a classroom, follow the School on social media, and serve as ambassadors of Sacred Heart in your community.
Thank you for all that you do to support Sacred Heart, I look forward to the exciting year ahead.
