Interim Head of Upper School
Mrs. Marcie McDonald has served many roles at Sacred Heart Greenwich, including Dean of Students in the Upper School, Communications Director for College Guidance, Dean of College Guidance, and now Interim Head of Upper School.
Marcie's career began in the Sacred Heart network. After graduating from Boston College, she worked at Newton Country Day School as a teacher before becoming an admission representative at a college outside of Boston. She then became Dean of Students in the Upper School at Greenwich and fulfilled many different roles including Theology teacher and an interim period as acting Head of the Upper School. After taking some time to raise her young family, Marcie became the Principal of St. Mary Catholic School in Ridgefield, CT and, after four years in that position, she was asked to become the Assistant to the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Bridgeport. After moving around the country, the McDonalds were thrilled to return to Fairfield County in 2011.
Marcie is passionate about the mission of the Network of Sacred Heart Schools and is thrilled to be at Sacred Heart Greenwich. "The beauty of a Sacred Heart education is that while we evolve in awareness with the changes around us, the Goals & Criteria and overall mission doesn't change," Marcie said. "We are grounded in something very meaningful and very specific, and yet the beauty of it is that it evolves as our society evolves."
