THE HIGHER WE WANT TO FLY, THE GREATER THE RISK, BUT THAT IS THE GLORIOUS PART OF IT. JANET ERSKINE STUART, RSCJ
Sacred Heart offers a broad-based college preparatory curriculum with honors and advanced classes, special projects, study abroad, summer programs and independent study. While we're pleased by the exceptional number of college acceptances our graduates earn to top-level institutions each year, our focus isn't only on academic success. We take great joy in learning together—with students in the driver's seat. The all-girls advantage means that our Upper School students develop the confidence and courage to say yes to new responsibilities and opportunities, such as participating in Mock United Nations, editing the newspaper, building robots, and competing for prizes in poetry or at the Connecticut STEM Fair.
Our interdisciplinary focus helps students see that science doesn't just happen in a lab, but is all around us, just as they discover there is poetry in mathematics. Our true mission is to inspire our graduates to recognize we are all connected with one another and with the world, so they can enjoy purposeful, faith-filled lives with meaning.
