Every student learns differently, and every student brings unique strengths, interests, and goals to their educational journey. The Student Success Initiative offers personalized support and enrichment opportunities that help parents and staff feel confident that each student is valued and supported to reach their full potential.
Supporting Every Learner
Led by Kim Sapone, Director of Student Success K–12, the Student Success Team collaborates closely with faculty to ensure every student receives the support needed to thrive. This teamwork fosters a sense of shared purpose and commitment to student growth among educators and staff.
The team’s ongoing professional development enhances teaching practices across all divisions, inspiring confidence in the program's commitment to excellence. Recent training in literacy, Universal Design for Learning, and expository writing ensures students benefit from thoughtful, responsive instruction designed to support their growth with confidence.
Personalized Support and Enrichment
Student Success resources are designed to meet students where they are and help them continue to grow. Across the Lower, Middle, and Upper Schools, students have access to individualized instruction, small-group support, academic coaching, and enrichment opportunities tailored to their needs.
In the Lower and Middle Schools, Learning and Math Specialists work closely with students to strengthen foundational skills, develop effective learning habits, and build confidence as learners. In the Upper School, students benefit from dedicated learning support periods, Writing and Math Centers, and individualized guidance to help them navigate advanced coursework and achieve their academic goals.
Inspiring Students to Reach Further
Student Success extends beyond academic support—it also encourages students to explore their interests, embrace challenges, and pursue excellence. Enrichment opportunities are woven throughout the curriculum to inspire curiosity, independence, and intellectual growth.
Lower School students benefit from differentiated instruction and advanced opportunities in reading and mathematics. Middle School students engage in programs such as Math Challenge, advanced mathematics and world language courses, the seventh grade CogX course focused on metacognition, and the eighth grade Capstone experience. Upper School students pursue advanced coursework and independent learning through AP, Post-AP, Capstone, and research opportunities.
Spaces Designed for Student Growth
Dedicated Student Success spaces in each division provide welcoming environments where students can connect with specialists, access resources, collaborate with peers, and receive individualized guidance. These spaces reflect Sacred Heart Greenwich’s commitment to making academic support accessible, responsive, and connected to the daily student experience.
Through the Student Success Initiative, Sacred Heart Greenwich ensures that every student is known, supported, and challenged. Progress is monitored through regular assessments, feedback from students and teachers, and goal-setting meetings, ensuring that personalized guidance and enrichment opportunities effectively support student growth and achievement.
