Global Scholars Program

In an increasingly interconnected world, young women must be prepared to think beyond borders, engage with diverse perspectives, and lead with purpose. The Global Scholars Program empowers Upper School students to develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to understand complex global issues and make meaningful contributions both locally and globally.

The Global Scholars Program is a selective three-year academic experience that guides students through global learning, leadership opportunities, cross-cultural engagement, and immersive research. Rooted in the Sacred Heart mission of service and social justice, the program encourages students to explore the connections between local and global communities while developing the perspective and skills needed to become compassionate global citizens.

Through advanced world language study, interdisciplinary coursework, international experiences, and engagement with the Sacred Heart Network, Global Scholars explore diverse cultures and perspectives while strengthening their communication, research, and critical-thinking skills. Students participate in opportunities such as international exchanges, service initiatives, dialogue with students around the world, Model United Nations and other multicultural leadership experiences, educational visits, and conversations with global leaders and guest speakers.

The program culminates in a senior Global Scholars Symposium, where students present a capstone research project that reflects their individual interests and global perspective. Throughout the program, students maintain a portfolio documenting their growth in cross-cultural understanding, leadership, and professional skills. Upon successful completion of program requirements, deserving seniors receive a Global Scholars Program certificate at Prize Day.
