In 2013, the Sacred Heart Center for Research, Teaching and Learning (CRTL) was founded to foster the design, development, and integration of inspired practices for preschool through twelfth-grade learner-centered instruction. The Center functions as an in-house professional development community. Faculty actively collaborate in workgroups and projects to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning, pedagogical development, curricular innovation, and community building. The CRTL mission and global outreach include initiatives to curate and archive resources, develop innovative ways to build capacity and efficiency, and prepare the Sacred Heart community to meet the demands and challenges of a global society.
