Sacred Heart Greenwich Student Earns First Place in Chemistry Competition

Congratulations to Sacred Heart Greenwich student, Stephanie S. '28 who earned First Place in the First Year Chemistry Competition sponsored by the Western Connecticut American Chemical Society.

The competition began with a written examination, after which the five finalists were invited to participate in an individual 20-minute question-and-answer session with a panel of chemistry professors.

Stephanie received her award at a special recognition dinner celebrating outstanding high school and college chemistry students. Following the awards presentation, guests enjoyed a presentation by Professor Stacey Lowery Bretz, Dean and Chemistry Professor at Ohio Northern University, who shared insights from her research on the teaching and learning of chemistry.
