Four Sacred Heart Greenwich Filmmakers Selected for the All American High School Film Festival

This year, for the thirteenth Annual All American High School Film Festival (AAHSFF), four Sacred Heart Greenwich filmmakers were selected to have their films shown in one of the most distinguished film festivals for high school age filmmakers in the country.

The Sacred Heart Greenwich films were selected among thousands of the world’s best high school filmmakers.
The AAHSFF is an incredible way for aspiring filmmakers to gain recognition for their films, in addition to introducing filmmakers to new opportunities to improve his or her skills. The All American High School Film Festival 2025 was held in New York City October 17 - 19.

The Sacred Heart Greenwich documentaries that were selected into the film festival were “The Man in Red Bandana,” produced by 11th graders Julia B. and Maria W., and “Around the World," produced by 10th grader Juliet P.

“The Man in Red Bandana” is a documentary about Welles Crowther, a hero who saved many lives during the September 11th attacks. Through this documentary, Maria and Julia share Welles’ inspirational story and impact on others through an interview with his mother, Alison Remy Crowther.

“Around the World” is a documentary regarding the journey of Mark Parsons and Tim Sperry as they sailed across the world within a group of five. This documentary explores the incredible memories, experiences, and successes that this life-changing voyage rewarded to each member of the crew, despite the hardships that they faced along the way.

Juliet said, “I hope my documentary reaches the right audience, inspires people to do big things, and follow their dreams in whatever way that might be.”

Twelfth grader Lexi P. was selected for her PSA, “Pink Tax”, calling attention to the divergence in the amount of money that women and men pay for hygiene products throughout his or her lifetime.

The nominees and award winners with the AAHSFF were announced at the Teen Indie awards on Sunday, October 19. Learn more about the festival here

Congratulations to all of the filmmakers selected for the All American High School Film Festival:
