Sacred Heart Greenwich is pleased to share that Avery Kim ‘24 and Lindsay Taylor ‘24 were named 2024 Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Program (NMSC). Of the more than 1.3 million eligible high school juniors who entered the program only 16,000 have been nationally recognized as Semifinalists.
The NMSC, a not-for-profit organization established in 1955, honors the nation’s scholastic champions who exemplify academic excellence. High school juniors enter the program through participation in the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying test which was offered in October. Today’s list of Semifinalists represents the highest-scoring seniors in each state who will advance onto the Finalist and Winner rounds which will be announced in March 2024.
"Sacred Heart Greenwich is thrilled to announce that Avery Kim ‘24 and Lindsay Taylor ‘24 have achieved national recognition as 2024 Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Program," said Michael F. Baber, President of Sacred Heart Greenwich. “This prestigious accolade reflects the unwavering commitment these students have demonstrated in their academic pursuits, and we are immensely proud of their accomplishments."
NMSC Semifinalists who meet academic requirements will advance to the next step of the process of which 15,000 students are expected to be recognized as Finalists and 7,140 will be officially recognized as Merit Scholarship winners.
