Welcome Home! Homecoming and Reunion 2022

“Welcome home!” was the call heard again and again, as over 400 alumnae, family, and friends gathered to celebrate Heart Homecoming and Reunion 2022. The festivities kicked off with family games and a barbeque lunch by the Hardey Observatory, followed by athletic competitions between Upper School varsity and JV teams and rival schools, Hotchkiss and Kent.

The afternoon program included a lecture by Rita Houlihan ’66, speaking on “Art True to Scripture-Mary Magdalene and the Risen Jesus,” and a presentation from three Upper School Students discussing service, justice, and their work with local populations in need. Father James Rebata celebrated Mass honoring classes ending in ’2 and ’7. During the Mass, distinguished alumnae received awards of recognition. The honorees include:

  • Outstanding Alumnae Award: Hope Houston Hirschorn ’82, Sheila Hickey Cameron ’62
  • Professional Excellence Award: Elizabeth Sweeney Block ’97
  • Broadcast Journalism Award: Katherine Benjamin ’11
  • Young Alumnae Spirit Award: Class of 2014

The day’s celebration concluded with outdoor cocktails under the stars, as old friends mixed and mingled with classmates and beloved faculty. Says Margot Kearney Navins ’02, former president of the Alumnae Board and Homecoming guest, “Sacred Heart friendships are so special and like no other. Our class was together back on campus and it felt like no time had passed. Also, it was so fantastic to see Mr. Baber back on King Street, as we were one of his first classes. Already looking forward to our 25th!”
