On Wednesday, July 6th, the Sacred Heart Summer Outreach Program hosted Turning Pages for their second Free Book Fair, which provided 132 Summer Outreach students with the resources to nurture their love of reading.
Each student was able to bring home 3-6 books from the book fair. During the school year, the Lower and Middle School communities donated over 760 books to Turning Pages May Spring Cleaning Book Drive, which bolstered the collection that was presented to the students this week.
Rising sophomore and engaged member of Turning Pages, Caroline Fouts noted, "the selection of books was tremendous with opportunities to read anything from biographies to fantasy, and attendees were so eager to choose their favorite genres and books to bring home to read."
Turning Pages has collected and successfully donated over 31K books, impacting more than 10K children in the U.S. and set kids on a path to becoming life-long learners. They strive to accomplish this goal by delivering books into the homes of families and creating read-aloud videos for children to access.
