Senior Trio Named National Merit Scholarship Finalists

Sacred Heart Greenwich seniors Ceci Duncan, Emily Newton, and Beth Yeager have been named National Merit Scholarship Program Finalists. The program awards scholarships based partly on Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) scores. The trio was named semifinalists at the beginning of the school year and all advanced to the finalist round.

According to the National Merit Scholarship Program, the pool of semifinalists represent less than 1 percent of high school seniors and includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. From that group, 15,000 finalists were chosen, of which 7,500 will be named Merit Scholars. Congratulations, girls!
