One Heart Committee Update

Dear Sacred Heart Greenwich community,

Last week, I announced the formation of a new Board Committee now known as One Heart: Advancing Equity, Diversity & Inclusion co-chaired by Carmen Hughes P’27, ’31 and Sandie O’Connor P’19, ’23. Its mission is: to intentionally build and strengthen a more diverse and inclusive environment in which all students, faculty, and staff feel valued, respected, and connected to one another so that each can do his/her best work, share his/her ideas and perspectives, and have a consistent experience of belonging.

With this construct, we will harness the momentum and opportunity for change by bringing renewed focus, commitment, and accountability to our work together.

On behalf of the Board, I express my deepest gratitude to the volunteers who have said “yes” to One Heart and the important work ahead. Together, we will create a more diverse, inclusive, and consistent student, faculty, and parent experience for our community and truly fulfill Goal III and Goal IV in our Goals & Criteria: “We commit ourselves to educate to a social awareness which impels to action, and the building of community as a Christian value,” particularly “promoting a safe and welcoming environment in which each person is valued, cared for and respected.”

We will continue to share One Heart developments and achievements regularly.

Happy Fourth of July to everyone and may God bless America.

Greenwich Time: Greenwich student finds inspiration close to home for her artwork

Each year, Greenwich’s Bruce Museum celebrates works of fine art by emerging young artists with its iCreate exhibition. From more than 850 submissions, 56 were selected for this year’s iCreate 2020 display. Katie Keller, a 2020 graduate of Sacred Heart Greenwich, learned how precious life is from watching her grandmother’s experiences with Alzheimer’s disease.
