Greenwich Time: League of Women Voters honors essay contest winners

The League of Women Voters of Greenwich and its affiliate high school clubs announced the winners of their second annual essay contest for students. This year’s essay contest celebrates the first female vice president with the essay prompt, “Dear Madam Vice President.” Students were encouraged to write a letter of up to 500 words to Vice President Kamala Harris, sharing their stories, advice, and wishes.

The League received nearly 200 submissions. A panel of high school student judges followed an anonymous judging protocol to choose three winners: one each for elementary school (K-5), middle school (6-8), and high school (9-12), along with honorable mentions in each category.
