Meet Mr. Michael F. Baber
Sacred Heart Greenwich is pleased to welcome back Mr. Michael F. Baber in July, 2022. His deep commitment to Sacred Heart's mission is palpable, and the Board is excited by the range and depth of Michael's leadership experience in areas that are essential to our vision for the future, including academic excellence, active faith, social action, community and stakeholder engagement, admissions, financial aid, and philanthropy.
As Head of School since 2016 at the Network's Villa Duchesne and Oak Hill School in St. Louis, Missouri, Michael partners closely with faculty and staff to nurture student growth and academic excellence. At Sacred Heart Greenwich from 2000-2015, he held multiple leadership roles, including twelve years as Assistant Head of School. His broad impact at Sacred Heart Greenwich included chairing the Education to Mission and Curriculum Committees, establishing a diversity committee, leading a $21 million capital campaign, coaching athletic teams all three seasons, and guiding the farming program during Summer Outreach.
Michael's return to Greenwich is a homecoming for him and his family. He will be joined by his wife, Lauren, who is an alumnae of Sacred Heart Greenwich. In addition, Michael and Lauren have two children, Allison and Patrick.
Reflecting on his new role, Michael said, "I am beyond belief that this opportunity-one where I can return to a community that is deeply in love with the mission of a Sacred Heart School- has come to fruition. I am excited to work with so many students, parents, alumnae, and faculty and staff whose generosity and dedication know no bounds. Go, Heart, go!"
